Multi-Day Bus Tour

Shakespeare and Tanglewood

About This Tour

Join us for an unforgettable summer journey into the beautiful Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts! Our first day will begin with a visit to the amazing Bridge of Flowers and lunch in the delightful town of Shelburne Falls. We will make our way that afternoon to The Mount for a guided tour of the beautiful garden home of the famed author, Edith Wharton. In the evening we will descend onto the quaint Main Street of Stockbridge where you will have free time to enjoy dinner in the town made popular by the beloved illustrator, Norman Rockwell. We will end this wonderful day under the stars in an open-air amphitheater as we watch a Shakesperean drama company perform live on stage. The next morning, we will go to Tanglewood, the breathtaking summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, where we will enjoy a live classical music performance as we soak in the atmosphere with our picnic lunches among the towering trees of the Berkshires. Then, we will wrap up these two magnificent days at Naumkeag, the spectacular country estate of a New York City lawyer and United States ambassador. Exquisite drama, music, and scenery make this a must-do trip!

Excellent tour, guide, and education! This was a great experience. We were able to see a lot of RI, learn about the history, culture and landscape while relaxing and letting someone else drive. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. There were many stops on the way to take photos and tour around, so it never felt like we missed anything. I highly recommend this tour!

Thank you Ted for a top notch tour of all things Rhode Island today specifically in the Rhode Island in a day tour. We visited several towns and all were lovely. I also appreciated the wealth of history that Ted told all of us about on the tour. He made this tour very enjoyable and also has a nice sense of humor. I would recommend this tour or any of the other tours of Explore Rhode Island. Thank you so much!
