Shakespeare and Tanglewood
About This Tour
Join us for an unforgettable weekend in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains! Our first day will begin with a lovely stroll across the amazing Bridge of Flowers that spans the Deerfield River in western Massachusetts. From there, we will make our way to The Mount for lunch and a guided tour of the beautiful garden home of the famed author, Edith Wharton. Later in the afternoon we will visit Naumkeag, the spectacular country estate of a New York City lawyer and United States ambassador, before we descend onto the quaint Main Street of Stockbridge where you will have a couple of hours of free time to enjoy dinner in the town made popular by the beloved illustrator, Norman Rockwell. We will end this wonderful day under the stars in an open-air amphitheater as we watch a Shakesperean drama company perform Romeo and Juliet. The next morning we will go to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, where we will enjoy a live performance by world-renowned cellist, Yo-Yo Ma and the orchestra as we soak in the atmosphere with our picnic lunches among the towering trees of the Berkshires.
